Further GCC markets are expected to be added in phases.
Americana Restaurants International Plc has signed an exclusive development agreement with Taco Bell UK and Europe Ltd, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands Inc., to introduce Taco Bell in the UAE.
The deal extends Americana Restaurants’ existing relationship with Yum! Brands, under which it operates KFC and Pizza Hut outlets across the region.
Taco Bell’s launch will also mark Americana Restaurants’ entry into the Mexican-inspired quick-service restaurant segment.
The UAE will be the first market covered by the agreement, with further GCC markets expected to follow as part of a phased rollout.
Taco Bell operates more than 9,000 restaurants globally, including more than 1,200 locations across 40 markets outside the US.
The chain is known for its Mexican-inspired menu and focus on menu innovation, and has a particularly strong following amongst younger consumers.
