Türkiye is emerging as a dynamic franchising market between Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. With a population of more than 86 million, a large and diverse consumer base, and an established franchise ecosystem, the country offers international investors the opportunity to enter a substantial domestic market while using Türkiye as a platform for regional expansion.
The scale of the Turkish franchise market is already substantial. Approximately 3,700 domestic and international brands operate through franchise systems in Türkiye, with more than 50,000 franchise businesses across the country. The sector employs over 300,000 people and generates close to USD 55 billion in annual business volume. Around 30% of Turkish franchise brands have also expanded into international markets, demonstrating the maturity and international potential of the local franchise ecosystem.
Global franchise concepts have also achieved strong growth in the local market. International brands such as Burger King, Popeyes, Sbarro, Arby’s and Subway have established large franchise networks across Türkiye, with Burger King alone operating more than 800 restaurants. This highlights the depth of Türkiye’s franchise infrastructure and the ability of global concepts to adapt to local consumer demand.
Thanks to its strategic location between Europe, the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asia, Türkiye can serve not only as a destination market but also as a regional hub for franchise expansion.
On the other hand, investors should consider Türkiye’s macroeconomic challenges, particularly high inflation, exchange-rate volatility and pressure on household purchasing power. Annual inflation stood at 30.9% in December 2025, although the IMF expects it to decline gradually. These conditions can create challenges for pricing, operating costs and consumer demand, making local market expertise and effective financial planning particularly important for franchise investors.
For franchise brands and master franchise investors, Türkiye offers a combination of market scale, proven franchise experience, international connectivity and regional growth potential.
