To enter more cities in the united States, Canada-based Fresh Healthy Cafe, which has about 30 locations, has partnered with Fresh USA LLC, owned by Cape Girardeau, Missouri husband-and-wife Rick Hetzel and Cheryl Mothes. The duo owns three locations and will accelerate Fresh Healthy Cafe’s U.S. franchise expansion in the coming years.
Hetzel and Mothes opened Missouri’s first Fresh location in 2019, followed by a second in 2022. Hetzel, a 30-year law enforcement career veteran, has spent the past two decades building businesses across the restaurant, real estate and sports industries. Mothes, who holds a PhD in holistic nutrition, is a former nurse and serves as a financial adviser for a national company.
“Fresh Healthy Café is an incredible brand with a truly loyal following, and we have witnessed the strong desire for this type of healthy food here in the U.S. market,” Hetzel and Mothes said in a joint statement. “We are committed to helping our franchisees advance and are ready to provide them with the resources and support they need to open and operate their own FreshHealthy Café restaurants.”
Under the partnership, Fresh USA, is responsible for identifying strategic locations for franchises. In addition, the company will recruit and train franchisees and provide ongoing guidance to help drive awareness to their locations. Each establishment will showcase the restaurant’s smoothies, fresh-squeezed juices and meal choices including protein bowls, wraps, salads, paninis and soups.
