SINGAPORE – Froyo fever is heating up in Orchard Road, with popular South Korean frozen yogurt brand Yoajung making its debut at *Scape on Sept 5.
It comes hot on the heels of famed Australian froyo chain Yo-Chi’s launch on Aug 15, a short walk away at Orchard Central.
Yoajung, established in South Korea in 2021, has rapidly expanded into more than 600 stores across the country and is considered its largest dessert chain. Overseas, Yoajung has outlets in Japan, China, Hong Kong and Australia, with more destinations to follow.
Here, the menu offers a choice of either an acai bowl (from $8 for a 150g cup) or frozen yogurt (from $3 for a 150g cup).
For the frozen yogurt, you can add on a chocolate “shell” ($2) and an array of toppings priced from $1.30 for different types of cereal and from $1.50 for fresh fruit.
More unique additions to your froyo treat include shards of crunchy dalgona candy ($1.50), mochi cubes ($2) and a generous chunk of honeycomb ($7).
You can add similar ingredients to the acai bowl.
Yoajung also plans to offer combo sets of the best-selling items, as well as picks from its K-pop celebrity customers.
Its entrance into Singapore is via Modu Consulting, a Hong Kong-based company owned by its South Korean founder. The company holds the franchise to open Yoajung in Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore.
Yoajung’s debut adds to the current dessert wave in Singapore, with the likes of gelato and coffee bar Mondo in Amoy Street, Yeah Gelato at Plaza Singapura, Gelato Messina in Club Street and Tofu G at Mandarin Gallery. These all opened in the past five months.
Yoajung is at 02-09 *Scape, 2 Orchard Link, and opens from 11am to 10pm daily.
