Japan’s % Arabica to enter six new markets within next three months

The boutique coffee group will add to its 198-store global footprint with launches in Turkey, Egypt, Spain, Hungary, Nepal – and a return to France.

Japanese specialty coffee chain % Arabica will enter six new markets across Europe, North Africa and South Asia by the end of 2024.  

In a social media post, the boutique coffee group said it will re-enter France with store on the high-footfall Rue Oberkampf in Paris and open its first store in Turkey with franchise partner Bean Alive this month.  

% Arabica will then debut in Egypt and Spain in September 2024 with outlets in Cairo and San Sebastián, before launching in Budapest, Hungary, and Kathmandu, Nepal, the following month.  

The coffee chain currently operates 198 stores across 25 markets globally, with 84 stores in China and a growing footprint in the Middle East.  

% Arabica is also exploring opportunities to further scale its European footprint with launches in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Portugal. Additional markets of interest include Brunei, India, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Lebanon and Myanmar, according to % Arabica’s website
