Singapore-based fashion retailer Love, Bonito has opened its first physical store in the Philippines as part of its global expansion strategy.
The new store, located in Greenbelt 3 Mall in Makati, spans more than 2000 sqft and showcases three core clothing collections: Signatures, Staples, and a seasonally inspired summer capsule collection.
The brick-and-mortar debut follows a growing volume of online orders from the country and multiple pop-up stores and activations aimed at growing the brand’s reputation there.
The store’s design draws inspiration from the “raw and realness” of life, featuring open ceilings, textured white walls, and warm dark wood accents.
Additionally, the store offers inclusive design elements such as an electronic fitting room queue system to minimize waiting time and wheelchair- and pram-friendly aisles.
Dione Song, CEO of Love, Bonito, shared that one of the reasons the company opened a brick-and-mortar store in the country is its high number of sales, experiencing a 90 per cent year-on-year growth on online orders.
“We know the malling culture is huge here in the Philippines, and we’re excited to finally put down our roots,” she added.
Co-founder Rachel Lim added: “Over the years, we’ve cherished every connection made through events and collaborations and are deeply inspired by the warmth and support of the community.”
“With our upcoming physical store, our Filipina customers can now experience our collections firsthand, join workshops and styling sessions, and be part of our vibrant community events.”
Love, Bonito started out as a digitally native blog shop, BonitoChico, on a Livejournal platform selling pre-loved apparel. It rebranded to Love, Bonito in 2010. To date, the company has more than 20 stores internationally across Singapore, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, and now the Philippines.
