iFLY, a world leader in indoor skydiving tunnels, is continuing its global expansion with projects in Indonesia, London and Las Vegas.
The firm is enjoying rapid growth across its franchise and company-owned tunnels.
iFLY is a sports and recreation company dedicated to realizing the dream of flight. It invented body-flying “indoor skydiving” and is the global leader in vertical wind tunnel technology. Visitors do not need to be athletic to participate – iFLY’s world-class instructors are experts at making flying enjoyable for everybody.
Each venue offers the firm’s unique wind tunnels, which are notable for their fresh air. Innovative technology recirculates and refreshes air from the outside, making the experience more hygienic and enjoyable. Even when working at slow speeds, this system creates an environment at least ten times fresher than an average retail location or gym.
High demand for franchise locations
Two new 12-foot diameter tunnels have been launched at franchise venues in Indonesia, with one venue in Jakarta, and the second in Bali at the indoor theme park Trans Studio. The firm is experiencing high demand for franchises, with further locations in Europe, the Middle East, and Australasia in discussion.
Ben Philpott, director of global development, says: “After the extended disruption caused by COVID, the first half of this year has exceeded expectations in terms of new tunnel openings, progress on new facility construction and the late-stage development of new projects.
“Earlier this year, two new 12ft tunnels opened in Indonesia at Trans Studio’s iFLY Bali and iFLY Jakarta, and construction is well advanced at the iFLY Doha Quest 10.5ft project in Qatar,” Philpott continues. “Several new projects in development, that were on hold due to the pandemic, have now ramped up again – it’s definitely a case of “watch this space” as further good news is expected soon from Australasia, Europe, South America and The Middle East. It’s a very exciting time for iFLY.”
iFLY is also celebrating the opening of a new Generation 9, 14-foot diameter company-owned tunnel at the iconic UK attraction, the O2 in London.
Simon Ward, iFLY international president, comments: “A high-profile London location has been a long-standing goal for iFLY and it doesn’t come much better than The London O2, one of the world’s largest music venues, with millions of annual visitors and first-class shopping and dining all under one iconic roof. We are able to serve Londoners, tourists and a vibrant corporate market, and iFLY London also serves as a fantastic showcase for potential new franchisees.”
Announcing AREA15 iFLY
This week, iFLY has announced a new project with AREA15, an immersive events destination in Las Vegas.

The attraction is expected to open later this year.
iFLY will be a tenant partner in a new 20-acre expansion of the AREA15 destination.
The attraction has welcomed over 5 million visits since it opened in September 2020. In 2022, Placer.ai named AREA15 the Most Visited Attraction in the United States.
Winston Fisher, chief executive officer of AREA15, says: “We are thrilled to welcome iFLY to the AREA15 District. The synergy between iFLY and AREA15 is undeniable. Both companies are committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s next in immersive entertainment, and we are both driven to create unforgettable moments of wonder and excitement for our guests. iFLY’s state-of-the-art indoor experience will bring AREA15’s District expansion to new heights, literally.”
The new iFLY facility will be just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, near Interstate 15, and in the heart of the AREA15 District. Neighbouring attractions will include other experiential and location-based entertainment firms, immersive event venues, and food and beverage outlets.
iFLY recently announced its first New York City attraction near the Midtown Tunnel at 10-04 Borden Avenue in Long Island City.
