Less than a year after BlackPeak Capital’s investment, Kafeterija completes its first acquisition outside Serbia
Kafeterija, the leading Serbian specialty coffee chain, has acquired Bulgarian coffee and food brand Eddy’s, cementing its position as a key regional player in the specialty coffee segment across Southeast Europe. The acquisition marks the next step in the regional expansion of the company, backed by BlackPeak Capital – the leading growth equity fund, supporting visionary entrepreneurs across Southeast and Central Europe.
As part of the acquisition, Eddy’s locations will expand their offering with a broader beverage range, including Kafeterija’s signature coffee, combining the strength of a well-established local brand with the operational standards and coffee culture of the Serbian chain.
Zoran Stanojević, Co-founder and CEO of Kafeterija, commented:
Bulgaria is a natural next step for us.
Eddy’s is an established brand with a loyal customer base and a strong market position. Together, we will bring to Bulgarian customers what we have already proven in Serbia and Montenegro – an authentic specialty coffee experience and uncompromising quality at every level.”
Edgar Yegiazaryan, Founder of Eddy’s, added: “Partnering with Kafeterija is an exciting new chapter for Eddy’s. We are thrilled to have a partner of their caliber alongside us – one that brings proven regional expertise, operational depth, and a genuine coffee culture that will help take Eddy’s to the next level. Together, we plan to expand the brand beyond Sofia and reach as many coffee lovers across Bulgaria as possible.”
The acquisition aligns with Kafeterija’s long-term strategy to establish a leadership position in the specialty coffee segment across Southeast Europe. Backed by BlackPeak Capital, the company is targeting a network of 120 locations and annual revenues of €70 million, positioning itself as the defining brand in the sector – not only in scale, but in quality standards and customer experience. BlackPeak Capital invested in Kafeterija in 2025, since which the chain has opened 17 new locations and completed several acquisitions in Serbia.
Ivaylo Gospodinov, Managing Partner at BlackPeak Capital, noted:
“The acquisition of Eddy’s reflects the way Kafeterija builds its regional presence – deliberately, with respect for local markets and a clear vision of the value it brings to customers. This is precisely the kind of growth we believe in.”
