Arkansas-based Slim Chickens is opening in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, at 412 W. Dixie Ave., under the direction of multi-unit operating group, Houchens Food Group, which owns nine Slim Chickens.
“We are growing in the state of Kentucky, and are thrilled to share our mouthwatering chicken tenders and welcoming southern atmosphere in Elizabethtown,” Jackie Lobdell, vice president of franchise development at Slim Chickens, said in a company press release. “Houchens Food Group has a special partnership with the brand and we congratulate them on their ninth Slim Chickens restaurant as they continue to share our household name with more communities.”
The better-chicken brand has opened over 250 locations across the United States and the United Kingdom has over 1,000 in development. It has experienced a 60% restaurant growth over the last two years as well as a 13.6% year-over-year increase in AUV, reaching $3,864,513. It’s now targeting several national markets including Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and New York as well as overseas in the United Kingdom, the European Union, Turkey and the GCC, according to the release.
