Parent company SPC Group has partnered with its Malaysian franchisee Berjaya Food for its Philippines debut at the Mall of Asia shopping centre
South Korean bakery-café chain Paris Baguette has launched in the Philippines with a store at the Mall of Asia shopping centre in Manila.
In August 2023, Paris Baguette’s parent company SPC Group announced that its Malaysian franchisee Berjaya Food would facilitate its launch in the Philippines, which was originally planned for the fourth quarter of last year. Berjaya Food currently operates five Paris Baguette stores in Malaysia and has outlined plans to open five sites in the Philippines by the end of 2024.
“With Paris Baguette’s quality and expertise from operating over 4,000 stores domestically and internationally, we aim to lead a new bakery trend in the Philippines,” an SPC Group official said.
The Philippines is Paris Baguette’s 12th market globally and eighth across East Asia after South Korea, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia. The bakery-café chain also operates stores in France, the UK, the US and Canada and has signed a memorandum of understanding with UAE-based Galadari Brothers Group to open sites across the Middle East.
Founded in South Korea in 1988, Paris Baguette currently operates 3,750 stores in its native market and more than 500 outlets internationally.
