Malaysia’s ZUS Coffee seeking to open 150 new stores in the Philippines in 2025

The small format operator has already opened 100 stores in the Philippines in just 16 months, making it one of the fastest-growing coffee chains in the market

Malaysia’s ZUS Coffee has outlined plans to open 150 new stores in the Philippines in 2025.

The coffee chain, which operates over 600 outlets in its home market, made its international debut in the Philippines in September 2023 and reached 100 stores with a new site at the Starmall EDSA-Shaw shopping centre in February 2025.

ZUS Coffee, which sold a 35% stake to Filipino restaurant group Choi Garden Restaurant Company in March 2023, is one of the fastest-growing branded coffee chains in the Philippines having found success with its small-format store footprint, app-based ordering and value-focused menu.

Alongside ZUS Coffee, homegrown chains Pickup Coffee, Beanleaf, Black Scoop Café, Coffee Break and But First, Coffeehave all scaled their operations over the last 12 months with a similar operating model.

In September 2024, ZUS Coffee raised RM 250m ($57.5m) to facilitate further domestic and international outlet growth. The digital-first coffee chain opened its first store in Singapore later the same month before launching in Brunei in November 2024.
